Choquequirao

Having left Arequipa the night before, we breakfast at 6:00am and leave Cusco travelling 2 hours to the town of Cachora (2910 m). From this tiny town we will see the snowcapped Padrayoc (5400 m) and Wayna Cachora and have lunch on the viewpoint of Capuliyoc. After lunch, we will continue descending for 4 or 5 hours to Chiquisca, along the way marvelling the Apurimac Canyon with its impressive abyss. Here we will set up camp eat dinner and spend the night.

After a delicious breakfast we will begin our hike descending to Rosalinda Beach (1500 m). After crossing a wooden bridge we will continue on towards Marampata, where we will eat lunch. From this site we will be able to see the Apurimac Canyon with its beautiful waterfalls, considered one of the deepest canyons in the world. We will continue on to the complex of Choquerquirao where we will have great views, dinner, and spend the night.

Departing at 6:00am and we will once again visit the Choquerquirao complex, seeing in more detail its importance as well as being able to admire the flight of the sacred bird of the Incas, the Condor. After the visit we will return to the campsite to eat breakfast and pack up the equipment and return, using the same path, to Santa Rosa where we will eat lunch and then after a short hike we will arrive at Chiquisca where we will once again set up camp, eat dinner, and sleep.

Early, after breakfast, we will leave our camp and continue our hike to the town of Cachora. Here we can eat lunch at the viewpoint Capuliyoc in Cachora. After we will get in our transport that will take us back to Arequipa, stopping along the way to eat dinner and arriving in Arequipa at about 6:00pm.
