Day of the Student in Maldonado with some great food to celebrate!
Grades one and two are advancing well with an 80% pass rate. The new kids from the altiplano this year are getting to grips with learning and receive additional attention from Ediluz.

Where we work, the desert!
Of the 50 children who took their mid-term exams in Maldonado, 42 passed with 8 needing more 1-1 attention. This is the classroom we built many years ago!
Encouraging recent exam results, especially in maths and languages. Some drunks slept in the kitchen in Maldonado and managed to burn it down, though thanks to Armando and other donations, we have been able to rebuild a simple structure and buy a new gas tank and reintroduce a food program.
Fiestas de la Patria during July with the children busy doing “desfiles” around the comunity. Also the Day of Achievement showed off what the children have learned and how far they have come.
Victor Maldonado celebrated its anniversary with the usual “antorchas” marched around with pride at night! They also celebrated with a day in the school, with theatre, poems, songs and games.
New school year started on 4th with 54 children officially in Maldonado. We will concentrate on Maldonado this year with Ediluz in charge and also the Phoenix-paid teacher. With the government providing food in Triunfo our attentions will be focussed on Maldonado.
