Plan Huerto (vegetable gardens). Investing in seeds, fencing, wages and fertilizer to start crop-cycles with the income reinvested into further crops, wages and the schools. This was started in 2012 in Ecuador and Guatemala and was introduced in Honduras in 2015.
30 families benefit from Plan Huerto as of December 2016 meaning their children’s secondary school, college and university costs can be sustainably covered in the future. We aim to increase this to 100 during 2017 and 2018.
