Plan Moo

Plan Moo was started in Ecuador in 2008 and introduced in Guatemala in 2013. A cow is purchased providing a micro-business and income for the family for secondary school, college and University for their children.

The sales of milk also help to cover local teachers’ salaries, daily food and fruit and materials. Each cow costs around $1,000 depending on age and type plus extras including transport, medicines, balanced feed, salt licks etc. The total cost of one cow in Plan Moo is around $1,500.

Almost one hundred families have benefited so far from Plan Moo meaning their children’s secondary school, college and university costs can be sustainably covered in the future.
